About Bob Torres
Bob Torres is assistant professor of sociology at St. Lawrence University. Bob received his M.S. and Ph.D. from Cornell University in Development Sociology, and also holds bachelor's degrees in philosophy and agricultural science from Penn State University (University Park). Co-author of Vegan Freak: Being Vegan in a Non-Vegan World, Bob is also co-host of a (sort of) weekly online radio show, Vegan Freak Radio which takes a critical and often humorous look at the animal rights movement. In addition to his work in the animal rights movement, Bob's writings have also appeared in Critical Sociology, The Journal of Latinos and Education, International Journal of Occupational and Environmental Health, and Satya magazine. Along with his partner Jenna, Bob has presented at the Renewing the Anarchist Tradition Conference in Vermont, the Toronto Vegetarian Food Fair, and the Boston Vegetarian Food Festival.
Bob lives in the northern foothills of the Adirondacks in Upstate NY with his partner Jenna, two dogs who love to run, and a fat old cat. Bob is an avid vegan cook, a runner and cyclist, and a general computer geek. He can occasionally be caught blogging over at bobtorres.net.
